Mother's Day Cactus Free Crochet Pattern

Hello! Mother's Day is coming up and I wanted to make something special. I have always loved little cacti and I thought a crocheted cactus would be really cute. I was right, it turned out super adorable and I'm sharing the pattern with ya'll today. Scroll down for the free crochet cactus pattern and I also have a free pattern for the little heart as well!

Cut the yarn, turn the cactus inside out and weave in ends. Turn the cactus right side out and stuff.

Use tan yarn to create the “spines” Cut 18 strands of yarn. Tie them on, evenly spaced around the cactus and trim.

Insert the hook from top to bottom.

Yarn over with a strand of tan yarn that has been cut.

Pull up a loop.

Yarn over with both ends of the yarn,

and pull through.

Tighten.

Add more.

Trim.

Decorate with a heart if you would like.

Heart Pattern

R1: Make a loose slip knot and ch 1. Work all the stitches into the loose slip knot. 2 hdc, sc, dc, sc, 2 hdc, slip stitch into the center.
Cut the yarn, thread through a darning needle and thread the yarn through the center. Pull on the tail end to close the hole. Sew to the cactus.

Put a very small amount of stuffing into a small pot and put the cactus in the pot with the “soil” covering the stuffing in the pot. Tuck in. You may add some glue to hold in place.

The End!
